Y'shaati loves spending time with young monkeys, and they adore playing with their "Big Sister". Taking care of them is one of her favorite responsibilities within the troop. For her, it's more of a hobby than a chore. However, looking after the future generations of Naka'i sometimes is not as easy as one might think and can turn into quite an adventure in the blink of an eye. The feral girl learned this important lesson some time ago.
One day, she decided to take the little ones with her on a trip to a place not far from Petaity, the main territory of the Naka'i troop. A thick and lush area where she would teach them how to swing among the vines. It's vital that infants learn to move gracefully through the treetops from an early age in order to survive in the always dangerous environment of the jungle. After several hours of fun and learning, the babies tummies began to growl. Lunchtime had arrived. Y'shaati knew exactly what she had to do, so she decided to go out in search of food, but not before asking the monkeys to stay together and to behave while she returned.
Sitting on a branch alone for a few minutes, the pups couldn't help but feel impatient to eat. The hunger caused them to become grumpy, starting to jump and push each other roughly. Because of this, the thin branch supporting them began to crack from the base, but the pups were too distracted to notice the risky situation.
Meanwhile, at the top of a tall tree, the blonde girl finally found a bunch of bananas, the perfect snack for everyone. As she made her return with the food in hand, she caught a glimpse of the naughty monkeys fighting in the distance. She rolled her eyes at how little they lasted without causing troubles. But suddenly, the branch couldn't hold any longer and broke completely, making them fall from a great height. Panicking, Y'shaati dropped the bananas and immediately rushed to their rescue.
Grabbing a vine while free-falling, she swung as fast as she could to save the infants just before they hit the ground. Thanks to her good reflexes and great dexterity with her hands and feet, she didn't fail to catch all of them. She even managed to grab one with her mouth. Y'shaati struggled for a few seconds to keep her balance with the monkeys over her entire body, but fortunately everyone made it safely down to the ground. It all had happened too fast, but at least the danger was over.
Y'shaati closed her eyes and sighed in relief for a moment. She was about to scold them, but the pups jumped up and hugged her. The babies were fascinated to see the amazing skills their Big Sister had displayed, feeling inspired to become just as brave and strong monkeys like her when they grow up. This made her forget her concern and filled her heart with affection. However, they were still hungry and continued to fight between them soon after, as if the previous event had been no big deal. The girl reflected that perhaps this hadn't been the best idea for a trip with the babies. Good thing their mothers weren't around to see it. And there was probably no need to worry them and tell them about this little incident.
